Just over a week ago, I went to Chicago to play diplomacy ( If you don’t know what diplomacy is at this point, you have not been reading enough. Look it up yourself). Is a great event. It was well run, a good venue, and a decent field of players. Although I did not do as well as I would like to have (results), I had a great time. The Chicago is full of good people, and the traveling players where amongst my favorite. I even had the opportunity to see two old fraternity brothers whom I had not seen in two years or more. sorry I don’t have more to say other than I had fun, and look forward to the next tournament. Anyway, here are two pictures from the weekend:
I saw this setup in front of some shop. John was sport enough to pose for a picture. The store was not named hydration station, nor did it seem to have anything to do with drinks.
John, Alex, Jim and I, went to the top of the Sears Tower ( no longer called the Sears Tower). At the top are three glass rooms extend out over the edge of the building. That’s a glass floor 1500 feet above the ground. Alex and John happily went out to see the view. Jim was reluctant, which gave me the courage to make him look like a sissy. I am not going to lie, I was very scared. When I think about how things like this are made, I know that other engineers just like me have designed these things. I know how easy it is to make a mistake.
