Climbing Mount Cotopaxi in Ecuador

Posted February 27th, 2010 by Conrad

I have super busy so I have been late posting a lot of things. My life has been very hectic lately. I am going to start a series of entries here posting my videos from my trip to Ecuador in January. It was a great trip and I had a lot of fun. I will probably post some pictures too and some entries. I ill eventually get back to posting about Texas.

First is my video of my attempted climb of mount Cotopaxi, outside of Latacunga. The video covers almost everything about how it went. It costs 250 USD to higher my own guide and cover food and lodging and all equipment. I thought it was a fair price but I probably could have negotiated. It would have been much cheaper if I could have found someone to go with me and split the price, but oh well. I sort of got talked into doing this by talking to some Australians who will appear in later videos. They were talking about making the climb and I decided to skip taking a very famous train ride on one of the country’s last remaining train tracks, and go climb the mountain instead. After the all night climb I took a nap, went directly to the Quito airport and flew to Guayaquil for the wedding. I was very tired.
