Messin' with Texas

It’s a little late because I didn’t have my camera cable and I still don’t have internet (it’s coming Wednesday). The big news of this past week here in Beaumont is that it snowed 4″ in the middle of the night Thursday morning. I woke up and thought I was dreaming. I thought I had left the cold north east for a nice mild winter down here on the coast. Sure the trade off was going to be an unbearable summer, but now it appeared I would get both? Once I came to terms with the fact that there was snow everywhere, my second thought was: “Texans can’t drive when it’s not snowing. The roads are going to be a mess.” Sure enough they were. Here are the pictures for those of you that don’t believe me. Some of the locals here said it’s the second time in their life they have seen something like this, and one guy in my complex said it was his first snow ever.
