I got a little bit of money back on my taxes this past year, and I decided to donate the return to various things. The first reciepent was of course NPR, my favorite radio station. I donated to the local Beaumont affiliate.
The other donation i made might be considered a bit odd. I was sitting talking to a guy I work with from India. We were talking about goverment, politics, life. We have lunch together quite often as we share a common philosophy about life. He started telling me about his school that he want to as a young boy in India. He told me that they were so poor and that he and his brother were among the most successful graduates from that school. He had taken it upon himself to donate some of his paycheck each year to his former school. Seeing as how I had money burning a whole in my pocket I spoke up and said I wanted to donate. I gave a little bit, but it was enough to buy a new gate for the school yard so that the chickens and goats and cows wouldn’t come in and ruin the grass. Anyway here are the pictures of the gate they had made with the money I donated. It still has to be painted, and it still has to have the hinges installed, but this is what it looks like right now:

… I want my name on a gate now. Good on you Conrad for being a philanthropist. Next time, you should donate some of your money to Rush Limbaugh instead of NPR. BWA HA HA. I kid… I kid.
